Itoh Peony ‘Old Rose Dandy’

Itoh ‘Old Rose Dandy’ is a charming compact bush with classic rose-colored blooms with raspberry flares  at the center.  This prolific bloomer yields elegant 4-5” semi-double blossoms with a beautiful fragrance.  These gorgeous blooms are a beautiful display in the landscape, container garden, or for cut flowers.  Its sturdy stems require no staking and hold up well to poor weather.

Itoh Peonies, such as ‘Old Rose Dandy,’ are a hybrid of herbaceous peonies and tree peonies.  These incredible perennials are hardy, have strong stems, and long lasting blooms.

Planting/Care Instructions +

Planting Instructions: May be planted in any well-drained, moist, slightly acidic soil. 1. Dig a hole large enough to encompass the tuberous roots without bending or circling. 2. Set the plant in place so the eyes (tender white swellings protruding from the crown area) are slightly below the soil surface. Cover with soil to original soil surface. Water regularly throughout the growing season. Remove spent blooms. In the fall, prune back foliage. Fertilize every 3 months.

Pests or Diseases: Resistant to botrytis and phytopthora.
